DJ Evans sponsors Bury Barbarians as they take on elite teams at the 10th GKIPA7s
The team which comprises several of the current Wolfpack players (1XV), along with several high-quality guest players, is for the first time competing in the Elite tournament, against the likes of England and Wales development squads, Northampton Saints and last year’s winners, the British Army 7s.
D J Evans, based on St Botolph's Lane, behind the rugby club's Haberden ground, is a one stop shop for fixings, fasteners, power tools, hand tools, woodworking equipment, garage doors, welding equipment, architectural ironmongery and building products.
Speaking on behalf of DJ Evans Gary Mayes, Managing Director said: "Having had a long-standing relationship with our neighbours, the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, we are proud to continue our support with sponsorship of the Greene King IPA Rugby 7's Tournament and the Bury Barbarians."
Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club Chairman Mike Robinson added: "Our Bury Barbarians team is our strongest yet with a host of high calibre players, both local and invited guest players from across the country. We are confident they will be a force to be reckoned with. So much so, we have entered them into the Elite competition alongside some high profile, experienced international 7s squads. It is wonderful to have DJ Evans as the sponsor of our Barbarians team this year. The company was one of the club's very earliest sponsors and has remained a loyal supporter of the club for many years."
