One of the UK's top rugby sevens tournaments, the Greene King IPA 7s is celebrating its tenth year this May.
The tournament which is held at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, takes place on Sunday 6 May 2018 this year. Attracting elite teams from across the world, it is being seen as a practice tournament for many top players ahead of the World Cup in San Francisco later this summer.
The event will once again be part of the Super Sevens Series Tournaments, four national tournaments which run throughout the summer in the UK. There are twelves teams committed to the series with a further four invitational sides.
Last year the event attracted national squads from England, Ireland and Jamaica, whilst premiership clubs Northampton Saints and Worcester Warriors also competed.
In addition to the elite tournament an open tournament run concurrently for developmental and local teams.

The family friendly day, sponsored by Greene King IPA, England Rugby's official Community Club partner, has become a favourite bank holiday event for many across East Anglia. Alongside the spectacular fast-paced, electrifying rugby there will will be activities and games for children including a climbing wall, fire and police vehicles to climb in and adventure challenges. Extensive food and drink stalls offer a wide variety of choice including a hog roast, barbeque, a beer festival. There will also be stalls selling merchandise and gifts, making it a day out for the whole family.
Speaking about the event Neil Ireland, GKIPA7 Tournament Chairman said, “When we first established this tournament we never dreamt it would grow to become the event is is today. Each year we welcome more high profile teams and players to compete, which makes for a thrilling day for spectators. Now as one of the highlights in the Sevens rugby calendar, the Greene King IPA 7s is elite sevens rugby at its very best. No other event in East Anglia offers spectators the chance to watch world class sport in the region.
Gate prices are £15 per adult, £5 for U16s and free for Under 5s. Look out for early bird discount prices when ticketline goes live later this month.
