The club are delighted to be able to announce that we have recruited Kingsley Lang, Isaac Helu, and Ryan Freney from The Sunshine Coast Stingrays.
The Sunshine Coast Stingrays club are based in Brisbane Australia and play at one level below Super 14. They are coached by Ex wallaby players, therefore Kingley, Isaac and Ryan bring to the club a wealth of experience, talent and professionalism that will benefit the whole club.
Arriving last week, they will not only be new role models for the senior teams, passing on what they have learnt and helping to raise our standards, but they will also be doing coaching sessions with the all youth and the minis over the coming season. Helping to coache the coaches and players alike.
You are bound to see them around the club and I am sure we shall make them very welcome and assist them in getting used to the pommie weather. We can even get them wet inside as well as outside!
Kingsley has been appointed as our official fitness adviser and trainer - working full time for the club and will be manning the gym during the day, enabling us to extend opening hours significantly. Kingsley will also assist with Rugby coaching at West Suffolk College on behalf of the Club, taking over the role of Forwards coach for the college team. For the Seniors he will be the assistance forwards coach joining the coaching squad, co-ordinated by Andy Herlihy for the seniors.
If any of the youth or senior players need a gym program to help them develop please see Kingsley and he will provide a program specific to your needs and help you achieve your goals.
Kingsley and Dwain Brown will also be the Clubs representatives on the new West Suffolk College / Bury RUFC liaison committee, now set up to help ensure that the club and the WSC are working towards the same goals and jointly helping our young players to develop in the best way for them in the short and longer term.
