Unbeaten captain Johnson took his Wolves side to Cantabrians on Saturday for what turned out to be a very tough league encounter.
Bury opened the scoring when Giddy worked well to secure turnover ball and feed Lagudi to score. Borley kicked the conversion.
Cantabs playing a a good pick up and drive game found a gap in the Wolves defence to get a try back.
This score told the Wolves that they needed to tighten things up in defence especially around the fringe of the ruck area. A number of big hits from Lagudi, Hemlen, Giddy, Youngs and cpatain Johnson saw the Wolves work their way up the filed and earn 2 more penalties from Offord before half time.
In the 2nd half the Wolves pack started to get the upper hand on a tough Cantabrians outfit. This gave scrum half, Titch a great base to kick intellegently from and keep the Wolves in the oppositions half.
Props Hart and Coates both took the ball up well keeping the Wolves going forward.
Always on the spot fly half Gee started to get ball that he could release his backline with. But the final pass never happened for the Wolves to get a second try.
The Wolves sealed the victory through another penalty from Offord.
