A great start to the season !

Bury looked composed as they went onto the pitch with the coin toss going Stortford’s way.
Bury kicked off into the wind but look strong as Stortford kept possession. Burys fast line speed meant they were able to push Stortford back with each tackle forcing them to kick finding touch.
Bury's line out worked well winning the ball resulting in a well worked passage of plays allowing Robin Plumridge to score the first try of the game (and his 1st this season).
The unforgiving strong winds hampered Burys’s kick to convert the try (0-5)
Bishop Stortford kicked off deep into Bury half and were awarded a number of penalty’s.
Stortford then replied to Burys’s try with a try of their own. An impressive kick from Stortford’s number ten put Bishop Stortford in the lead (7-5).
Bishop Stortford found themselves close to the bury try line and looked likely to score until a strong tackle from George Ash was rewarded with a 22 drop out.
As the game reached half way Bury found their stride with the newly integrated team starting to gel.
Going into the 2nd half Bury looked and performed as one as they kept Bishop's Stortford defending in there 22
As the match progressed, Bury looked like they were getting stronger and stronger, especially in the scrum, something Bishop's Stortford didn't have an answer for.
Soon the pressure Bury was applying paid off with George Ash getting Bury's second try making the score (7-10).
A lapse in concentration gave Bishop's Stortford a penalty within easy kicking distance allowing them to level the score to (10-10).
Bury responded with team work resulting in a try from Adam Walker under the posts putting Bury back into the lead (10-15).
A head injury saw Burys’s winger Max Harding retire early from the game, and Oscar Portway came off with a suspected broken collar bone (confirmed later at the local A&E).
As the game came to a close Bury were awarded a penalty taking the lead to (10-18).
Bury's JA Head Coach (Bury's 1st XV Tighthead prop); Andrea Pozzi said "It was a good start to the season but he could clearly see that the JA had the potential to use more space".
