Shelford's A team got the edge on Bury's Junior Academy where their B team fell short three weeks earlier.
Bury kicked off and brought the game to Shelford's 22 with a strong presence from the start.
Shelford responded and scored by the posts. their conversion took the score to 7-0.
Bury were not able to recover and left their defence open for Shelford's fast no. 5 to break through and score by the right post for an easy conversion, 14-0 to Shelford.
After the restart Bury replied quickly with a break on their right wing from George Ash scoring beside the right corner flag as he outran three of Shelford's backs. This gave Ewan Sherrell a long and difficult conversion with high winds complicating the kick. The conversion sailed through the posts leaving the score 14-7 to Shelford just before half time.

Shelford kicked off the second half and put the pressure right back on Bury. The pressure caused Bury to give away a penalty in front of the posts and with Shelford having the points advantage took the opportunity to extend their lead with an easy penalty kick ,17-7 to Shelford.
Bury found a new resolve and brought the game to Shelford's 22 creating a display of superb attacking and defending as they went through phase after phase within yards of the try line. Eventually Bury broke through with a dive from George Ash near the corner post bring the score to
17-12.
Bury sustained this attacking form, again going through phase after phase within 5 yards of the try line. The intensity eventually caused Shelford to give away a penalty with Bury opting to take the easy points with a penalty conversion from Jack Bowyer (17-15). With the restart in Bury's control they kept the pressure on, however Shelford showed their earlier strength and took the game deep into Bury's half. Another penalty given in front of the posts gave Shelford the chance to convert again taking the score to 20-15. Bury responded but the time ran out leaving Shelford A victors.
