Bury Under 14's impress again winning away to Wymondham
By Richard Barnes
Some great individual performances especially in the Forwards who all put in a great shift, prove too strong even against a against stern test on the road at Wymondham.
Bury came through a stern test from a large and physical Wymondham side to record a well earned victory. Conditions were not ideal, but after a tight first 10 minutes Charlie Upright stormed through from full back to score under the posts. Stuey Adam scored the conversion. Wymondham hit back quickly with a great try scored by their winger who scorched down the touch line. Bury kept up the pressure with Hari Lally scoring after showing some great footy skills (apparently inherited from his father). Stuey slotted the extras. The last try before half time was scored after Scott picked up from the base of the scrum, powered close to the line to off load for Rhys who was in support to force his way over for a great try.
The second half saw the sides trade tries. Charlie scored in the corner after some great work in the midfield sliced open the home defence. josh Bullingham then powered over and Rhys Parry Jones scored his first try for Bury smashing his way through midfield, with Stuey adding a conversion. Wymondham responded in the second half with three tries which were well deserved and reflected their determination to fight to the end. There were some excellent performances in the Bury pack where Ryan Bourne and Archie Murrell in particular really took it to Wymondham, but all the pack really put in a good shift. There is still plenty to work on but this was another solid team performance in difficult conditions so well done lads.
Final result - Wymondham 20 - Bury 36
