Foxes stay top of the league after a hard fought win. 25-5

Foxes win 25-5 at home.

With the Foxes playing at home they were hoping to bring that winning momentum with them against 3rd in the league Stanford-Le-Hope.
Although coming away with a win against a very strong opposition, this game proved to be a hard-fought game for the Foxes.
This was shown in the first ten minutes of the game with a strong Stanford attack and the Foxes on the defense straight away. With strong tackles coming in from the Foxes in particular Kaylee Williams and Em Gattlin, they were able to avoid any points on the board. The Foxes were then able to turn the ball over with good hands the ball was run down the wing in for a try by Steph Hanratty, her first of three. (5-0). However, Stanford came back strong after the kick off showing that this was going to be a hard game for both sides resulting in them scoring their try leveling the score board. (5-5).
With their heads held high the Foxes came back fighting putting in a solid attack with strong runs by the forwards and some good lines ran by the backs Steph Hanratty was once again able to run in the try on the wing. (10-5). With the Foxes back in the lead they were able to once again come forward with a determined attack to further that lead. This led to the next try after several forward phases Natalie Palmer was able to find the gap to score her try. (15-5).
The last try of the first half was to come from Steph Hanratty completing her hattrick were she was able to run in her try down the wing. (20-5). This came after a number of difficult scrums for the forwards and some strong lines off Holly Fifield at ten.
The second half was to show the determination and strength that the Foxes show every game with their very impressive defense. The final try of the game was to come from EJ Stearn who showed her strength to run through a number of players and score the try. (25-5). With this Stanford came back fighting looking to get more points on the board however the Foxes defense stood strong and held off the attack to finish off the game with the win.
