Bury St Edmunds RUFC U16 5 v Sudbury RUFC U16 61

A Bad Day at the Office
Sudbury arrived at the Haberdan to face a seriously depleted team, injuries and festive activities impacting upon availability. However, following the challenges of last season we were still able to put a full squad onto the pitch which was pleasing and provided valuable playing time for everyone involved.
From the outset it was clear that this was going to be a difficult day at the office, Sudbury were quickly out of the blocks and capitalised upon an error strewn performance from the team, which lacked the cohesion of recent performances. Each opportunity provided was clinically finished and ensured that the result was significantly one sided. Credit to Sudbury, they were excellent on the day and deserved the win. However, this result was not a true reflection of the team, results from the start of the season producing six wins, including against Saffron Walden and Sudbury, one draw against Colchester and three defeats, two by very narrow margins highlighting the progress which has been made. Today was merely one of those days where little went right and huge amounts went wrong! Hopefully following the Christmas break we will welcome back those missing and start 2019 with a truly reflective display against Holt at the Haberdan on the 6th January. Merry Christmas to everyone involved with the U16's and enjoy the break.
