Your scribe was told............
The first half was all about Cantabs, they controlled the game, but Bury kept the score to one single unconverted try, to turn around at half-time 0-5
The second half was nearly all Bury, scoring six tries to Cantabs one, starting with a penalty try after a dominant scrum was disrupted by off-side players came around to give the try away, 7-5. This was followed by Vaughan Bentley battering his way through the middle from the half-way for converted try No.2, 14-5. Play continued with Bury pushing hard with the elements behind them, from a 5m ruck Joe Berry once again was on hand to add another try, conv missed, 19-5. Although contesting strongly Cantabs couldn't hold out another drive from the Bury pack , finished off by Simon Cooper, conv missed, 24-5. Bury's next foray finished with George Mills using his silky speed to go around the defence and run in under the posts, conv, 31-5. not long to full time Cantabs rounded off their day with a try down the left flank , conv missed to go 31-10. This left time (just) for Harvey Newman to catch a wide pass on the half-way line and sprint out wide to beat the defence and making it easy for Stu Turner to convert in front of the posts on the final whistle, 38-10
