In Bury's penultimate game of the Eastern counties competition, Sudbury kicked off and Bury immediately pushed up the pitch and looked like scoring but handing errors gave Sudbury a chance to clear.
Following a penalty to Sudbury and scrum down, Bury passed the ball out wide finding max harding who scored Burys first try with Jack Bowyer converting 7-0.
Bury were awarded a penalty soon after the restart five meters of the half way line, Jack Bowyer kicked for goal but the ball fell just inches short.
Bury did not have the best of days with discipline under question. Penalty after penalty were given away and it was not long before Sudbury capitalised kicking over the post 7-3.
Bury looked to score once again with a cheeky little Kick and chase from max harding got bury close to the try line but the ball went out and Sudbury defended well and cleared there lines. Five minutes before the first half came to a close, a questionable decision by the referee saw Burys centre receive a yellow card for repeat offences.
Bury kicked off the second half and the both teams carried the ball between the 22s.. A series of offences from Bury enabled Sudbury to gain ground and put pressure on Bury's defensive line. Out of the sin bin, Burys centre came back and the team were pressed against their try line by attack and attack from Sudbury. Sudbury’s centre Jack Prior managed to squeeze through the back line leading to a try to Sudbury (7-10).
Bury do not let this put down their game plan and they return to the game with more passion pressing Sudbury into their half . Sudbury win the ball in play and kick for clearance but Burys winger max harding was on the receiving end, using dummy passes to make his way pass Sudbury. With supporting play bury made it up to their try line but sadly the try was denied due to double movement.
After a series of plays Bury trapped Sudbury in their half, causing a turn over and with simple ball giving Robin Plumridge chance to outpace Sudbury,s defence for a try 12-10.
Sudbury restarted and were instantly on the defence with quick passing and a well placed allowing Declan Howard chance to try under the posts with Jack Bowyer converting.
Bury were starting to grow in confidence and were on the attack soon were awarded a penalty in front of the post Jack Bowyer had no trouble taking the score to 22-10
With only seconds remaining, Sudbury restarted and kicked the ball into touch only for the referee to blow the final whistle.
Bury kept their supporters on the edge of their seats as there lead could have been far more comfortable if not for simple errors.
